Review the steps for removing and installing Roots vacuum pumps

2024-11-14 14:33

Roots vacuum pump, after use for a period of time, there will be some failures, we should pay attention to check the bearing, oil seal, machine seal, belt, etc., if the damage needs to be replaced in time, and do a good job of Roots pump installation work.

1) Disassembly and cleaning

The first step, disassemble the triangle belt, disassemble the pump inlet and outlet pipe and heat tracing steam pipeline, nitrogen pipeline; Remove the anchor bolt and move the vacuum pump to the maintenance platform;

In the second step, open the cover plate at the top of the pump, insert the feeler ruler from the upper cover plate to measure the gap between the rotor and the diaphragm at all levels, and make a record;

Finally, the whole plane position of the upper part of the vacuum pump is clearly marked with a marker to avoid errors during recovery; Clearly mark the front and rear orientation of the active rotor and the driven rotor; Remove the pump body connecting bolt, step by step from the end of the vacuum pump, while measuring and recording the thickness of the paper pad between the various levels of partition until completely disintegrated. Clean the parts of the vacuum pump with alcohol, the part of the scale can be cleaned with yarn paper; The parts of the rotor wall plate and partition hair are repaired and smoothed by file and polished by polishing machine.

2) Installation procedure

Prepare new rotors, rolling bearings, oil seals, mechanical seals, adjusting paper pads that need to be replaced; Replace the oil seals on the wall panels of the front and rear bearing boxes.

(1) Fix the maintenance platform with a rectangular frame, put the front bulkhead of the first-stage rotor on it, put the active and driven rotors in accordance with the marks, install the pump shell, bulkhead, interstage sealing ring, adjusting paper pad and cylindrical positioning pins at the four corners step by step, pay attention to the thickness of the adjustment paper pad and the record during disassembly, tighten the fastening bolts of the pump body.

(2) The pump body is placed on the maintenance platform, and the throttling ring of the rotor at both ends of the baffle is installed; Install the wall plate in the bearing box; Install bearing seat and bearing.

(3) Use a feeler to check the front and back gaps of the rotor and the separator at all levels, requiring it to comply with the gap data of the maintenance manual of the vacuum pump, generally ensuring that the gap between the rotor and the front and back partitions is greater than the required minimum value, and the adjustment range is 0~+0.10mm.

(4) Pre-installed synchronous gear: Install the synchronous gear with a keyway, and the synchronous gear with a cone can be gently pressed by hand first.

(5) The Angle of the two rotors is adjusted to cross 90°, insert the second stage between the two rotors with a ruler, and fix the vertical rotor with a long axis; Gently turn the other rotor by hand, feel the tightness before and after the same, and then tighten the lock nut on the conical synchronous gear; Manual turning should not be stuck.

(6) Use feelers to check the gap between rotors at all levels, and check the position of ±45° between the two rotors and the horizontal line; D is the total clearance of the two rotors, and the rotor is generally required to be D/3 when the rotor is -45°, and the rotor is 2D/3 when the rotor is +45°.

(7) Install the rear cover plate, oil seal and mechanical seal of the front and rear bearing box, install the rear cooling water tank, and install the pulley;

(8) Roots vacuum pump installed back to the original equipment foundation, tighten the anchor bolts, adjust the triangle belt tightness, restore the import and export pipeline connection.

(9) Add lubricating oil, check the sealing condition, and prepare for test.
