Common technical terms for vacuum pumps

2024-08-24 10:00

The application of vacuum pump is quite extensive, but there are many terms in the industry, not the industry is difficult to remember, often hear people remember and say wrong, here, this article will help you to sort out these technical terms, so that everyone understand the vacuum pump industry.

Vacuum pump technical terms, vacuum pump in addition to the main characteristics, limit pressure, flow and pumping rate, there are some terms to express the relevant performance and parameters of the pump.

1. Starting pressure. The pressure when the vacuum pump starts without damage and has pumping effect.

2, The front pressure. The exhaust pressure is lower than the outlet pressure of the vacuum pump 101325Pa.

3, The maximum front pressure. More than it can cause the vacuum pump damage of the front pressure.

4. Maximum working pressure. Inlet pressure corresponding to maximum flow rate. Under this pressure, the vacuum pump can work continuously without deterioration or damage.

5. Compression ratio. The ratio of the outlet pressure to the inlet pressure of the vacuum pump for a given gas.

6. Ho's coefficient. The ratio of the actual pumping rate over the area of the pump vacuum pumping channel to the theoretical pumping rate calculated by molecular outflow.

7. Extraction coefficient. The ratio of the actual pumping rate of the vacuum pump to the theoretical pumping rate of the pump inlet area calculated by molecular outflow.

8. Reflux rate. When the vacuum pump works under specified conditions, the mass flow rate of the pump liquid per unit area and per unit time through the pump inlet in the opposite direction of pumping.

9. Water vapor allowance (unit :kg/h) Under normal environmental conditions, the mass flow rate of water vapor that can be extracted by the vacuum pump during continuous operation.

10. Maximum allowable water vapor inlet pressure. Under normal environmental conditions, the maximum inlet pressure of water vapor that can be extracted by the vacuum pump during continuous operation.

Application of vacuum pump

According to the performance of the vacuum pump, it can undertake some of the following work in the vacuum system of various applications.

1. Main pump. In a vacuum system, a vacuum pump used to obtain a desired degree of vacuum.

2, Coarse pumping pump. Starting from atmospheric pressure, reduce the pressure of the system to reach the vacuum pump where another pumping system begins to work.

3, The front pump. A vacuum pump used to keep the front pressure of another pump below its maximum allowable front pressure, the front pump can also be used as a coarse pump.

4, Maintain the pump. In the vacuum system, when the pumping volume is very small, the main front pump cannot be effectively used, so a small capacity auxiliary front pump is configured in the vacuum system to maintain the normal operation of the main pump or maintain the low pressure vacuum pump required for the evacuated vessel.

5, Thick (low) vacuum pump. A vacuum pump that reduces the vessel pressure and operates in a low vacuum range starting from atmospheric pressure.

6. High vacuum pump. Vacuum pump operating in high vacuum range.

7, Ultra-high vacuum pump. Vacuum pump operating in ultra-high vacuum range.

8, Booster pump. Vacuum pumps (such as mechanical booster pumps and oil booster pumps) installed between high vacuum pumps and low vacuum pumps to increase the pumping capacity of the pumping system in the intermediate pressure range or to reduce the capacity requirements of the preceding pump.
